A small tourist aircraft crashed near Nancy, France, on Sunday around 11am, killing 11 people. French authorities have warned against taking nearby roads, while emergency efforts are ongoing.

Following French media reports, an aircraft carrying a group of people who were on their way to make a parachute jump has crashed in the French town of Tomblaine.

According to local mayor Yves Séguy, 11 people have died in the crash.

Local police have urged people on the social media platform X to avoid several roads in the affected suburb of Nancy to allow access to emergency services.

Further details are still unknown, but the crash site is believed to pose a risk of explosion.
