An off-duty policewoman who happened to be walking nearby rushed to the scene and used the keys provided by the boy to enter the apartment.
Inside, the officer found the boy’s father deceased on the couch and his mother unconscious in bed. Emergency services were alerted and the mother was rushed to the hospital in a critical condition.
The child was placed in the care of a neighbour and later his godmother.
