
Several riots took place at the edge of the demonstrations for more climate protection in the French capital. In response to the riots, Police report that they have used tear gas in the centre.
Protestors had hammers or fuel canisters and smashed shop windows. Moreover, they damaged bank branches and built barricades.
Police advised peaceful protestors to dissociate from violent groups at the march for climate.

At a separate demonstration of the Gilets Jaunes, hundreds of people called for a historical protest in the capital. This demonstration also gave way to riots, occurring near the Champs-Elysées. Police again used tear gas to stop these riots.
90 people are in police custody and so far over 300 people have been fined.
15,200 people took part in climate demonstrations in Paris on Saturday.
7,500 members of the police were on duty in the French capital. The Elysée announced that the French president, Emmanuel Macron, was following the demonstrations.
