Concerned by the absence of the mother seal, the pedestrians promptly contacted the local authorities for assistance. Responding to the call, the police, along with the aid of a local hunter, managed to capture the approximately 9.3 kg seal pup.

In a statement issued by the Bremen police, it was announced that the seal, characterised by its “big black eyes,” will now receive care and nurturing at a seal rescue station until it reaches an age suitable for release back into the ocean.
