On Saturday night, youths from Longwy and Mont-Saint-Martin got into a violent fight causing the hospitalisation of multiple people. The following night, at least 16 cars and a truck went up in flames. It is unclear whether there is a connection between these two events.

The fight broke out in the Gouraincourt neighbourhood in Longwy at around 4am on Sunday morning. The reason why the large group youths started fighting is still unknown.

At least ten people were injured, one of them so severely that they are now in a coma at a hospital in Metz. The victim had been burned using petrol. As a result, the authorities launched an investigation for attempted murder. As of Sunday night, no arrests had been made.

At least sixteen vehicles were set on fire in Longwy and Longlaville.

On Sunday night, fire brigades from Longwy and Longlaville were called out to deal with a large number of burning cars. The circumstances of the fires are yet to be determined.

According to our sources, at least 16 cars and a truck were ablaze last night. The intervention began at about midnight and the last call was made at around 5am on Monday. The police and the mayors of the two towns also attended the intervention.

It is unknown whether there might be a link between the events of the two nights, but more information is likely to follow.
