The police confirmed the fatality in the accident which occurred on Monday morning. A car careened into the opposite lane and crashed into a car. The woman in the car which the first vehicle crashed into died not long after.
The Trier public prosecutors have opened an enquiry alongside the Schweich police. The guilty driver was severely injured, but has not got life-threatening injuries. He was taken to hospital in Trier.
