RTL Today
Due to a general strike organised by various trade unions in Belgium, public transport and flights are severely disrupted throughout Belgium on Wednesday.

Brussels Airport has cancelled around 55% of all departures, management told Brussels Times, which translates to roughly 200 flights. Passengers will receive information from their airlines.

The airport has asked for passengers to only travel with hand luggage.

All flights are also cancelled at Charleroi airport, and the terminal has been closed.

Belgian workers will march in the capital on Wednesday demanding better wages and working conditions, as food and energy costs soar. The country reported an annual inflation of 12.27% in October.

According to the largest Belgian trade union CSC, in Brussels and in Wallonia two thirds of private hospitals are reducing their operations to a minimum. Emergencies remain open.

Many businesses, schools and even police stations have laid down work on Wednesday.
