
The red panda had escaped from Saint-Martin-La-Plaine zoo, however did not stray far from his home. One citizen found him in a tree in their garden, let the zoo know, and he was swiftly caught and returned.
The zoo employees managed to get the panda to climb down the tree of its own accord before taking him in without any issue. According to the vet, the animal was unharmed.
Averse weather conditions had facilitated the escape: thanks to the snow, branches of a nearby tree were hanging lower than usual, permitting the red panda to slip away.
