But He Actually Received A Copy Of The Gettysburg Address.

Business Insider reports that he most recently made the false claim at his New Hampshire campaign rally on Thursday.

On Friday, former GOP congressman Dave Trott said Trump was likely mistaking a copy of the Gettysburg Address as an “award”.

In 2013 Trott invited Trump to be the keynote speaker of the Oakland County Republican Party’s Lincoln Day Dinner in Michigan. During that ceremony, Trott presented Trump with a tie, a statuette of Abraham Lincoln, and the framed copy of the address. Trump has reiterated the claim, despite no evidence of such an award being presented to him at any time.

Trott has gone on record to say there was no ‘man of the year’ award presented that night and nothing to support the claim.
