On 13 September, Me Catherine Herrero’s office, located on Pierre Semard Street in Bobigny, near the judicial court, was set on fire by one of her clients.

“The man broke the front door, then the door to the office, which was empty at the time, and set it on fire,” Herrero told AFP, pointing to photos of the office upside down.

“He was unhappy because his process was not moving fast enough. There had been no threats before,” she said a few days after the event.

“60% of my firm’s files were destroyed. I have foreign clients whose files have to be reconstructed from scratch. Some files were original documents,” the lawyer lamented.

She is devastated, as the act is mostly “detrimental” to her clients. She added “Fortunately, there is solidarity among lawyers, otherwise I would’ve given up.”
