A petrol station in the German town of Torgelow was robbed on Tuesday evening by two assailants armed with machetes.

The incident occurred at around 9pm. The two individuals threatened a staff member and stole the till, which contained an unspecified amount of money. They subsequently fled the scene on two distinctive bicycles: a 26/28-inch mountain bike and a blue 24-inch children’s bicycle.

Police described both suspects as tall, between 1.70m and 1.75m in height, and slim. The first was reportedly wearing grey trousers, black shoes, and a dark blue hooded anorak. The second wore dark cargo trousers, white trainers, black gloves, and a black balaclava.

Authorities are appealing for witnesses, noting that the unusual choice of getaway vehicles may have drawn attention from other members of the public.
