NARROW VICTORY FOR LULA - In Brazil, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva will be the country’s next president, after a long and bitter campaign between the Leftist former president and the current far-right leader. Lula’s Election will likely be good news for the health of the Amazon rainforest, which is vital to the fight against climate change. Deforestation had soared during Bolsonaro’s administration. Today the only winner is the Brazilian people,” said Lula in a speech in Sao Paulo. It’s a narrow victory with 50.9% of the vote.
