A Luxembourgish lorry carrying mail, likely POST mail, collided with a car in front of it just after midday on Monday, according to Le Républicain Lorrain. The woman driving the car had died by the time that emergency services arrived at the scene.
The 46-year-old lorry driver was lightly injured and taken to the Bel-Air hospital in Thionville.
The cause of the collision remains to be determined.
