
As with every year, 1 November marks the start of a five-month winter period in which renters cannot be evicted from their homes. Whether that is for unpaid rent, abnormal disturbances in the neighborhood or lack of insurance, landlords are limited in their options. The period ends on 31 March.
Winter tyres are mandatory between 1 November and 31 March. All-season tyres are also accepted. This requirement concerns more than 4,000 municipalities across 34 departments, including nearly 200 municipalities in the Moselle region of France.

The government’s fuel rebate of 30 cents per litre was supposed to end on 31 October, but has been extended until 15 November in light of fuel protests and petrol stations running out of product. The same goes for the rebate made by TotalEnergies, which will remain at 20 cents per litre until 15 November. Both discounts will be reduced to 10 cents from 16 November until the end of the year.
Households that use heating oil will receive a one-time bonus of 100 or 200 euro depending on their financial situation. This check will be sent automatically before the end of the month to households that have already used a similar offer in the past, whereas new households can make their digital request from 8 November.
Supplementary private pensions are increased by 5.1% from 1 November. Last year, they only increased by 1%.
TotalEnergies launched its “Bonus Conso” operation on Tuesday. Out of the three million customers with an electricity contract with the company since 1 November, those who reduce their consumption somewhere between 5-20% will benefit from a 30-120 euro reduction. The global bonus is paid in April in the form of a reduction on the customer’s invoice.
From 1 November, the family support allowance (ASF) is increased by 50% to 184.39 euro for a parent who raises their child alone without child support. For single parents whose child support paid by the other parent is less than this amount, the minimum child support supplements the difference.
The purpose of the activity bonus is to encourage workers (salaried or self-employed) with modest resources to exercise or resume a professional activity and to support their purchasing power. The aid is increased by 28 euro plus an additional 14 euro per child. The sum will be paid automatically into the bank account of the beneficiaries who will have to meet the only condition of having received the activity bonus last June.
