The video footage of the not-so-smooth rescue is likely to make viewers dizzy, let alone the poor woman being airlifted.

The woman had sustained injuries to her face and head after falling and requested aid from firefighters. A rescue helicopter did arrive and managed to get the injured hiker secured into a rescue stretcher. But the events went from bad to worse as the stretcher began spinning wildly out of control whilst the helicopter was airlifting the injured hiker.

As per normal procedure, the emergency services attached the stretcher to the helicopter and began lifting her up slowly, but then the stretcher began spinning. The firefighters attempted to lower the woman again, but this caused the stretcher to spin faster.

Allegedly, a connecting device which ordinarily prevents rotating had broken during the rescue operation. The woman was spinning for nearly a minute in total. By the end of the ordeal, she was transported into an ambulance.

Media reports claim the woman did not experience any negative side effects resulting from the experience, beyond feeling ill and dizzy.
