Wholesome news bulletinGood news of the week

RTL Today
Sadly, there are negative news stories everywhere, so we thought we'd try and lighten the mood a bit.

Our colleagues over 5Minutes had the brilliant idea of spreading positive vibes amongst all the, sometimes overwhelming, negative news. This week, we have a local and regional bulletin.

We’ll start with some numbers and statistics. You’ve heard this one before, but unemployment has been at its lowest in ten years with 5% in December and 5.1% in January. If this is not good news for the labour market in Luxembourg, we don’t know what is...

On a different note, the organisation ‘Natur&Ëmwelt’ (nature and environment) recently put in place three new platforms (7m high and 1.20m in diameter, to be exact) for storks in the Grand Duchy to nest in.

A ‘memory-erasing drug’ (Propranolol), which was initially developed to help victims with post-traumatic stress, could now potentially help those with a broken heart. At least, this is what Canadian researcher and psychiatrist Alain Brunet has been researching since January. He is supposedly currently teaching doctors in France how to use it.

Moving on to the Loire region in France, a zoological park has had the pleasure of welcoming a baby gorilla which, according to the director, is an ‘exceptional occurance’. ‘Gorrillas are very rare and, as the mother breastfeeds the new born over the course of three years, they also rarely give birth’.

Moving back to Luxembourg news, we have some good news for Luxembourgish film lovers: the Luxembourgish production ‘Pachamama’ has been nominated in the category of ‘Best Animated Film’ for the Césars Awards.

Finally, whilst this may be subject to disagreement, we think it’s good news that a wolf was photographed just north of Luxembourg. Dangerous animals are still stunning creatures. See for yourself:

In case today’s sunshine hasn’t brightened up your day already, we hope that today’s series of good news has managed to do so. Our colleagues will continue this series next Saturday. In case you need some help getting in the mood, have a listen to Pharrell Williams’ Happy.
