
EU countries produced a total of 34.4 billion litres of beer in 2025. This represents a slight decrease of 0.7% compared with 2024, but an increase of 2.2% compared with 2020.
Most of the beer produced, 32.3 billion litres, had an alcohol content above 0.5%. Low-alcohol beer, with an alcohol content below 0.5%, and alcohol-free beer together accounted for 2.1 billion litres.
Germany was the EU's largest beer producer in 2025, with 7.4 billion litres, accounting for 21.6% of total EU production. Spain ranked second with 5.3 billion litres, or 15.5%, followed by Poland with 3.5 billion litres, or 10.2%.
The Netherlands came fourth with 2.4 billion litres, representing 6.9% of EU production, while France ranked fifth with 2.1 billion litres, or 6%.
