Restricted travelGermany to close borders with France, Austria and Switzerland

German media has reported the French, Austrian and Swiss borders will close at 8am on Monday.

The decision was made during a telephone conference between the Chanceller and the Bavarian Minister President Markus Söder, Minister of the Interior Horst Seehofer, Baden-Württemberg Minister President Winfried Kretschmann and Saarland Minister President Tobias Hans.

Germany’s borders with France, Austria and Switzerland will close at 8am on Monday morning. Commuters will still be allowed to proceed as normal, and lorries carrying supplies will also be allowed to circulate.
