Police presence has increased on the border between Luxembourg and Germany and between Belgium and Germany, the Trierischer Volksfreund reported.

Current locations include Echternacherbrück, Trier train station and Wasserbilligerbrück.

Officers are checking whether passengers may be infected with the virus, and will undergo the necessary tracing if that is the case.

“We are police, not doctors” said a spokesperson. The main goal of the police operation is to prevent illegal entry into the country.
