German police in the border region near Idar-Oberstein stopped a car carrying 12 people. According to authorities, some passengers were lying lengthwise on the back seats, while others sat in the car's boot.

Even the police officers from Rhineland-Palatinate were surprised that so many people could fit into a single vehicle. The feat was accomplished by a group of young people on Thursday evening.

During a checkpoint in Fischbach, not far from Idar-Oberstein, officers pulled over the car because it was evident that it contained too many people. Some of the adolescent passengers were lying lengthwise on the back seats, while others sat in the boot without being properly secured.

The group was on their way home after attending a Father's Day event. Father's Day in Germany took place on Thursday, 14 May.

In addition, the driver was found to be inebriated. The vehicle was not allowed to continue its journey, and an investigation into the incident has been opened.
