Snow and ice are felt in many parts of France on Wednesday, disrupting rail and air traffic and causing deadly road accidents.

Rail traffic was slowed in Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes and Lozère on Tuesday and three three people were killed in road accidents in southern Burgundy.

Paris airports warned that about 25% of flights at Orly and 20% of flights at Roissy are cancelled on Wednesday. Authorities invited passengers to postpone their trip if possible.

In the metropolis of Lyon, all city buses remained at the depot for a good part of the morning to avoid accidents.

As for school transport, lines were suspended on Wednesday in the Meuse, the Moselle, the Meurthe-et-Moselle, the Vosges and the Haut-Rhin regions, prefectural sources indicated.
