It has been a sleepless night for Villerupt’s firemen who had to face a number of fires on the Joan of Arc square. Firemen had to work non-stop from 2-5 AM on Thursday morning, in order to tackle burning bins and containers.
Everything appears to be pointing towards arson. According to a source, ''the bins and containers were in the road’’.
Tension peaked at 4 AM when a chalet, which had been installed or this weekend’s festivities, caught fire. Two police patrols have been mobilised.
At this point we do not yet know whether an arrest has been made or not. More details throughout the day.
