On Tuesday morning, a 66-year-old woman shocked her fellow attendees during a class at the community college in Prüm, Germany,
by pulling an 18cm kitchen knife out of her bag. Although she pointed the weapon at other people present, no one was injured, as the teacher and 10 participants were able to escape the classroom at speed.
The woman then fled the scene, but was later found by police at her home and taken to the police station. As she had previously presented with mental health problems, she was transferred to a psychiatric care facility for further evaluation. Police launched an investigation into the matter, as the woman’s motives were unclear.
