Police officers in the Dutch town of Etten-Leur came across a rather unusual burglar on Thursday morning.
Responding to reports of a home invasion, police said that when catching the burglar red-handed, “the suspect was found frying frikandellen in the house.”
Officers posted a picture of the classic skinless sausages on X.
Even the wurst jobs require a break, of course. But this may not have been the right time and place.
Unfortunately for him, the man was arrested and placed in a cell without ever sampling his snack.
The frikandellen, meanwhile, were confiscated “for evidence,” police said. Whether they were consumed after the picture was taken is unclear.
