T-55s are Soviet-era tanks first introduced following WWII, around 1949. The man was arrested following a joyride on the streets of Pajęczno, a small town in central Poland, at around 10pm on 12 June.

He had reportedly been driving the tank on and off its broken trailer, after which he drunkenly decided to take it for a spin around town while the trailer was repaired. Local residents became concerned when they saw the tank, fearing that the man may be out to attack the town in some respect.

The minimum sentence is likely to be 2 years for driving the uninsured vehicle while under the influence of alcohol.
