As UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson walked through the conference, he was handed a cup of coffee by one of his aides. The joy of fresh coffee, however, proved to be rather short-lived. Even before Johnson could take a first sip of his drink, a second aide snatched the cup out of the perplexed politician’s hand.
The aide’s intervention was most likely an attempt to avoid Johnson being pictured as environmentally-unfriendly.
In the clip, the aide can be heard murmuring “no disposable cups,” while Johnson mutters “Oh. Oh. Oh.”
Johnson reacted humorously to the incident and later tweeted “I got my coffee in the end,” holding a non-disposable “Get Brexit done” mug in his hand.
