Initially the man ignores her advice and tells her to ‘piss off’, opting instead to kick, push, and pull at the horse while calling it a “f*cking lazy bitch.” Several concerned citizens can be seen trying to soothe the horse while calling for assistance.
In the end Knight’s husband unchains the horse so that it can get back up. She also notes that the horse was bleeding from the mouth.
Meanwhile, the owner of the carriage hire company, Dean Crichton, agreed that the driver should not have used offensive language - but said that there was no malice in the kick:
“He did not kick that horse with any malice, it was just a nudge like come on get up, like if your mate fell over outside the pub. Wayne [the driver] lost his cool but it was a very stressful situation with everyone yelling at him. It was out of character for him to use language like that,” Crichton told MailOnline.
