It’s the kind of scenarios to which the inhabitants of the French city are almost used: a car caught fire Tuesday morning at Rue de Violettes in Villerupt.
According to our information, the fire started shortly before 6h and propagated to the adjacent garages soon after. A nearby vehicle was “seriously touched”.

The fire brigades of Villerupt and Audun-le-Tiche as well as the police were present.
If the circumstances of the fire remain uncertain, the number of complaints by the locals will rise steadily, as well of the demands to install surveillance cameras “to stop the increase of all sorts of incivilities”.
In their opinion, this morning’s fire was undoubtly an arson, as it isn’t the first time an event of this kind has occurred.
Indeed, over the past months multiple cars have caught fire in Villerupt, and even if the authorities cannot confirm the circumstances of the incident, the inhabitants strongly believe it to be a case of arson.
