It’s the kind of unpleasant surprise we all dread: discovering, in the early hours of the morning, that your car has been robbed.
Several cars were broken into in the area around Metz on Wednesday night to Thursday, notably in Ars-sur-Moselle and Jouy-aux-Arches. According to France Bleu, at least five reports were made, upon which the authorities discovered that all the thefts concerned BMW vehicles.
The cars themselves weren’t stolen, but vehicle equipment seemed to have been what the burglars were after. Rather than stealing personal belongings left inside, the thieves opted for steering wheels or consoles with GPS.
In any case, this is a first according to the local authorities, who announce that an investigation is underway.
