According to the Républicain Lorrain, the woman’s body was discovered by a pedestrian on Saturday morning, not far from a Moschetti shop between Audun-le-Tiche and Russange.
Emergency services said the body had not been in the water longer than a few hours. The victim was rapidly identified as a woman in her seventies, previously residing in Audun-le-Tiche. It is thought she left a note announcing her tragic decision, said the newspaper.
