The condition of the corpse may have helped the authorities identify the woman in question. According to sources close to the investigation, the body is that of a 53-year-old French-American scientific adviser. A ferryman found the body near Neuville-sur-Oise on 23 March.

The victim was of French-American nationality. According to her website and the ‘Expertes France’ website, she worked as a communication and development consultant in the biotechnology and beauty industries sectors. The cause of death is unknown for the time being.

According to AFP information supplied by the public prosecutor’s office in Pontoise, forensic investigations are ongoing. The disappearance of the woman in question was reported in Puteaux in Haut-de-Seine just a few days prior to the discovery of the body. The investigation, looking into homicide, has been entrusted to the Regional Director of the Judical Police in Versailles.
