On Thursday morning, authorities discovered a body in a small river in Talange, France.
French media reported that the discovery occurred as part of an unconnected operation to remove two cars from the river, which flows into the Moselle. When divers entered the water to confirm the cars' location, they realised one of the vehicles contained a body. A police team then joined the divers to extract the body from the water.
The vehicles were also removed from the river and will be subjected to searches as part of the investigation. An autopsy has been ordered to establish the cause of death and to clarify the identity of the deceased.
