According to Républicain Lorrain, the autopsy has confirmed there is no doubt that the body discovered in a canal earlier this week is that of Ilana Herrmann.
The 17 year old disappeared on the evening of 20 April in Troisfontaines.
The police appealed for witnesses but it was not enough to find her in time.
An investigation is ongoing to establish what happened to the teenager.
