The bus crashed off the Cross Bronx expressway while crossing the Alexander Hamilton bridge, New York Emergency Management reported overnight.
New York’s fire department sent units to the scene. All people who suffered injuries were on board the bus, and have since been transferred to hospital. The driver is believed to be among them.
Videos shared on social media showed the articulated bus split across the railing of the road bridge, with the front of the bus touching the surface of the road below while the back half balanced on the bridge.
One witness described the scene as like something from a movie.
