For this year's edition of the famous Oktoberfest beer festival, German police were supported by officers from Luxembourg, the Netherlands, France, Portugal and Italy.

In a statement published by the Grand Ducal police on Thursday, it was announced that the department of Banditry Repression was represented at the Munich Oktoberfest, in order to support their German colleagues. In particular, officers assisted during the festival's "Italian weekend", which traditionally sees a large influx of visitors, helping to prevent pickpockets. Any language barriers were overcome by the fact that the German police force was assisted by officers from several different nations.
