A body was discovered in the Seine at Charenton-le-Pont on Tuesday afternoon, but police say there is no link to the four victims found in Choisy-le-Roi earlier this month.

According to police, the condition of the corpse suggested it had already been in the water for several days.

For the time being, officers emphasised that there is no direct connection between this case and the four bodies found on 13 August in Choisy-le-Roi. In three of those four cases, no signs of violence were initially detected, although investigations are still ongoing.

As part of the murder inquiry into the four victims from Choisy, police arrested a Tunisian national on Sunday. The suspected serial killer had reportedly been homeless and living in the area.
