A 55-year-old woman was seriously injured on Monday morning after being shot in Tawern, Germany, not far from Grevenmacher and the Luxembourg border. The suspected attacker, identified as the woman’s 64-year-old partner, was later found dead after police stormed an apartment where he had barricaded himself.
Authorities evacuated nearby homes but stressed there was no danger to the public at any time. The woman remains in hospital receiving treatment.
