Several hours after the noted disappearance in the region of Vaux-sur-Sûre and Fauvilliers, the elderly Willy Noiset was found.
On Friday, the small village of Malmaison was in turmoil due to the disappearance of an elderly man, well-known among the villagers.
A large-scale police operation was launched Friday around Fauvilliers and Vaux-sur-Sûre to find Willy Noiset, who had been missing since Thursday afternoon. A helicopter assisted in the search, which grew increasingly urgent by the hour.
Fortunately, the outcome was a positive one: around 3 pm Friday, Noiset was found in his crashed car, which had slid into a ditch near a pond, trapping him inside. He was conscious but in a weakened state and was treated by paramedics on the scene.
His son Miguel, who had earlier appealed for help on social media, expressed heartfelt thanks to the police, calling the rescue "a miracle".
