The incident occurred at around 10.15am at “Borny-Zouk,” located at 21 Rue du Fort-des-Bordes, according to regional newspaper Le Républicain Lorrain.
AFP reports that five young people were injured, two of them very seriously. One victim is in critical condition, as noted by Le Républicain Lorrain, although the newspaper mentions four victims in total. The injured were transported to Mercy hospital by local firefighters. A security perimeter was established around the convenience store and remained in place into the early afternoon.
The circumstances surrounding the attack are currently unclear. An investigation is underway by the interdepartmental security forces. The perpetrator(s) are currently on the run.
