An Austrian Airlines Airbus, operating as flight OS434 from Palma de Mallorca to Vienna, encountered severe weather approximately 150 kilometers southwest of Vienna.
The aircraft sustained significant damage to its nose, windshields, and other forward-facing surfaces due to intense hailstrike during the flight. Despite the turbulence, extensive damage and no sight, the plane managed to land safely on runway 11 at Vienna International Airport.
The incident occurred at an altitude of approximately 6,000 meters directly into a hailstorm near Hartberg, Austria.
