Italy is currently still the European country that has been hit the hardest by the crisis. Residents have been severely limited in their daily activities for a week now due to the country being on lockdown. Despite the measures in place, the number of infections continues to rise. More than 17.600 people have been tested positive, and more than 1.250 have died. The northern part of the country is the most affected area.
People are urged to stay at home, bars and restaurants as well as shops have been closed, with only pharmacies and grocery stores to remain open for the time being.
However, despite the devastating circumstances, Italians are trying to remain positive as videos of people singing from their balconies are going viral.
