Passengers on flight BA112 from New York to London were given a welcome boost from the storm currently battering Europe, which reduced their flight time to just 4 hours and 56 minutes.

The flight, which on average lasts 6 hours and 13 minutes, was reduced by over an hour on Saturday night.

The strong winds and jet stream from Storm Ciara / Sabine helped the Boeing 747-436 break flight records from JFK to Heathrow airport, according to Air Plus News.
