A snake measuring 1.50m escaped from its owner's home in Meurthe-et-Moselle on Wednesday.

The royal python, which measures 1.50m escaped the flat through an open window in the Croix-de-Metz area of Toul on Wednesday afternoon and has remained on the loose ever since.

According to the local media, the snake made the most of a moment of inattentiveness of its owner, while the latter was cleaning the reptile’s vivarium. The snake escaped through an open window.

The fire brigade was called to the rescue at around 3.30 pm on Wednesday and have been looking for the reptile without success. On Thursday morning, the animal had still not been found.

Royal pythons are not venemous, but use constriction to kill their prey.
