A 66-year-old Luxembourgish woman was found dead in the Moselle river, not far from the town hall. The French gendarmerie confirmed the news to our colleagues at RTL 5minutes.

The deceased was from Mondorf-les-Bains. Allegedly, the woman arrived in the thermal town of Sierck-les-Bains by taxi on Friday afternoon. The gendarmerie reported that the woman’s possession were found near the river’s edge. According to RTL 5minutes’s source, this fact suggests “a desperate act.”

An investigation has been opened to determine the exact circumstances of the woman’s death.
