An earthquake measuring 3.4 on the Richter scale was recorded by the Swiss Seismological Service (SED) in the Jura mountain range on Monday night.
The earthquake caused no damage in either Switzerland or France. The epicentre was located in the Swiss commune of Damvant.
The tremor was felt as far away as Alsace, according to French media, with local authorities confirming the 3.4 measurement. The regions’ inhabitants are used to tremors, however. In fact, the last earthquake felt in the area dates back only to May 2023.
