Thousands of climate protesters disrupted the Frankfurt auto show on Saturday. Organisers report 25,000 participants, of which 18,000 came by bike and 7,000 on foot.

Demonstrators from various climate and environment groups reproach the auto industry with not moving towards an emissions-free future. They demand an overhaul in the transport industry, and a bigger focus on bus and train as primary modes of transport rather than continuing to build SUV’s that are harming the environment.
