The fire spread to a building on Bitburger Straße, where 16 individuals had to be evacuated and attended to. There were no injuries and firefighters managed to get the fire under control quickly.
This was not the first incident of that sort, but the circumstances remain unclear. The police have started an investigation.
Firefighters from Bitburg, Mötsch and Masholder, as well as emergency services, a first responder, the German Red Cross and the police from Bitburg were at the scene.
