On AirVisual, a website which helps you explore the air quality anywhere in the world, the Grand-Duchy’s average PM2.5 score was 11.5, which the site classed as ‘good’.
Fine particulate matter (PM2.5) is an air pollutant that is a concern for people’s health when levels in air are high. PM2.5 are tiny particles in the air that reduce visibility and cause the air to appear hazy when levels are elevated.
Top three on the list are Bangladesh, Pakistan and India, whose air is branded ‘unhealthy’. Countries such as Portugal and the US have the best air quality and are classed as ‘World Health Organisation targets’.
The interactive tool on AirVisual’s page lets you track your air quality wherever you are using a map. It lets you know whether your air quality is ‘good’, ‘moderate’, ‘unhealthy for sensitive groups’, ‘unhealthy’, ‘very unhealthy’ or ‘hazardous’.
