An automated alarm signal from a lost mobile phone on the A13 was among three incidents requiring CGDIS intervention on Sunday morning.

According to the Grand Ducal Fire and Rescue Corps (CGDIS), three separate incidents across the country required emergency intervention on Sunday morning.

The first occurred in the "Um Knupp" area of Mertzig at around 7.30am, when a fire started inside a heating system. Emergency services from Nordstad, Mertzig, and Grosbous responded.

Approximately two hours later, emergency personnel from Bettembourg and Frisange were despatched following an automated alarm signal sent out by a mobile phone. The incident took place on the A13 motorway in the direction of Pétange. In a bulletin note, the CGDIS stated that teams located a mobile phone that had been lost and had triggered the alarm.

The third incident occurred in Belvaux at around 10.20am, when local teams intervened after a car caught fire.
