Roads across Luxembourg are slippery this Sunday due to frozen slush and snow, Meteolux has warned. This warning will remain in place throughout the day, as temperatures are expected to stay below 0°C. Overcast conditions will dominate in the morning, with increasingly sunny spells developing as the afternoon progresses.
On Sunday morning, temperatures will range between -2°C and -4°C (with a perceived temperature of up to -8°C), before rising to around 0°C at the warmest point of the day. Temperatures will then drop sharply again overnight.
During the night from Sunday to Monday, minimum temperatures are expected to fall between -9°C and -6°C. As a result, the entire country will be placed under a yellow weather warning from midnight until Monday, 10am. A yellow alert indicates a ‘potential danger’ and represents the lowest level of weather warning.
After a freezing night, daytime temperatures on Monday will rise to between -2°C and 0°C. As the day goes on, skies will turn greyer, and Meteolux warns that snow showers will move in from the northwest again, with a risk of ice. In many places, there will be permanent frost with temperatures between -4 and -1°C.
